Salim Said Testifies in Feeding Our Future Trial

Salim Said, co-owner of Safari Restaurant, testified in his defense during the Feeding Our Future trial, addressing allegations of fraud in a federal child nutrition program. Said acknowledged the substantial profits his business earned during the pandemic but denied any fraudulent activity or payment of kickbacks. He explained that the meals prepared were intended for children, with parents picking up the food, though evidence of children actually receiving the meals was not presented.  Prosecutors challenged Said's testimony, highlighting discrepancies in his financial records and questioning the legitimacy of his meal claims.  The trial continues as the jury deliberates on the evidence presented.
